Services that may not be covered by OHIP
- Sick notes and other letters
- Prescriptions or referrals for massage therapy, chiropractic care, physiotherapy, and similar services
- School, university, camp, daycare, jury-duty, and modified-duty forms
- Insurance, disability, motor-vehicle, trip-cancellation, foster-parent, and other extended forms
- Driver’s medical examinations and pension-related medical forms
- Federal disability tax-credit forms
- Chart transfers or clinical summaries
- Liquid-nitrogen treatment, cosmetic mole removal, and TB skin testing when offered
- Missed appointments or late cancellations, if applicable
- Services for Quebec or other out-of-province patients, where applicable
Before requesting a service
Ask reception whether the service is insured, what documentation is required, the current fee, accepted payment methods, and expected completion time. Fees may vary with the complexity and the treating clinician’s requirements.
